Calli Dogon, MD Wins “Best Abstract Overall” Prize at 2024 GHRD

This year’s “Best Abstract Overall” prize was awarded to Calli Dogon, MD for her abstract entitled, "Cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes in HIV-exposed uninfected versus HIV-unexposed children aged 5-8 years: the influence of maternal lipid profiles." Dr. Dogon received a $500 award.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — Calli, a South African citizen, received her medical degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, and completed her internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPenn). Calli went on to complete her infectious disease fellowship, followed by an advanced HIV/TB clinical fellowship, at Brown University in late 2023. She completed her board exams in infectious disease at the end of 2023, now board certified and waiting to start as an infectious disease attending at Brown once her immigration papers are in place.

With her home country close to her heart, Calli has a passion for global health. She aims to create an educational partnership between Brown and UCT, with a paramount focus on improving patient care in the realm of HIV/TB. Calli's unique background, training, and dedication to global health provide her with valuable insights with the aim to contribute to the development of impactful initiatives addressing these critical health challenges.
