On Tuesday, March 24, members of the campus community convened on College Hill to recognize the impact, service, leadership, resilience, and innovation of Brown staff during Brown’s annual BEAR Day.
Two CGHE staff members received honorable mentions for Excellence Awards.
- Eileen Caffrey Wright, Program Manager, Center for Global Health Equity
- Eileen has been with Brown since May 2011, when the Center for Global Health Equity was the Global Health Initiative. She oversees the operations and international research activities of the center, supporting faculty and trainees engaged in global health research and education. Eileen manages a portfolio of international research and training grants, including the NAMBARI-Moi University/Brown University Biostatistics Training Program and the NEZLAMNI Ukraine D43 program. She has contributed to global health programming at Brown University and The Miriam Hospital for two decades, focusing on supporting faculty and trainees in developing and implementing global health programs that foster equitable and sustainable research partnerships.
- David Arango '23, International Medical Exchange Coordinator, Center for Global Health Equity
- David joined CGHE in February 2024. He manages the international medical exchange program and PLME international programs. In his role, he supported launching new medical exchanges with Aga Khan University (Pakistan), Medical University of Innsbruck (Austria), Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (Dominican Republic), Institución Universitaria Visión de las Américas - Pereira (Colombia), Tel Aviv University (Israel) and Keio University (Japan). He also led the implementation of two new PLME international programs in Rostock (Winter Course) and the Dominican Republic (Summer).
