Dr. Aisha Khan’s interest in global health was shaped by experiences caring for underserved communities both in the United States and abroad. During a medical service trip to rural Honduras, she worked at Clínica Esperanza, assisting with patient care, health screenings, and community outreach in a resource-limited setting. She also served as a Spanish translator for patients in Central America, an experience that deepened her appreciation for the ways language, culture, and access to care influence health outcomes. These experiences strengthened Dr. Khan’s commitment to serving underserved populations and complemented her involvement in community health, mentorship, and clinical research. She has contributed to numerous research projects and publications while holding leadership roles focused on medical education and advocacy. As an Emergency Medicine resident, Dr. Khan hopes to integrate global health with clinical care, research, and advocacy. Through BRIGHT, she hopes to develop sustainable, community-informed partnerships and continue learning how to improve access to high-quality care across diverse settings.
