Dr. Abi Chebl’s interest in global health has been shaped by her experiences as an international medical graduate, completing medical school in Lebanon, along with her longstanding interest in how culture, healthcare systems, and resource availability influence patient care. During medical school, Dr. Abi Chebl was an active LEMSiC member and helped organize the Free Medical Campaign, which provided free medical care to approximately 700 patients in an underserved community, including specialist care, laboratory testing, free medications, blood donation, and follow up clinical visits. Through this work and her regular involvement with a free monthly clinic "CARE" at her medical school, she witnessed firsthand the impact of healthcare inequities and the importance of accessible, coordinated care. Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, Dr. Abi Chebl is particularly interested in understanding how medical practices and challenges are reflected across different healthcare systems and how experiences abroad can inform care locally. These experiences have solidified her commitment to global health and to advancing equitable, culturally informed care as a neurology resident.
