Dr. Tyrrell’s interest in global health grew from her experiences working with children and families in Haiti. Across four trips, she provided care to children in rural communities, participated in public health initiatives, and learned from Haitian physicians. These experiences deepened her appreciation for building community relationships and supporting sustainable, community-driven initiatives. Her interest in global health continued to grow during a medical school clinical rotation in the Dominican Republic, strengthening her commitment to caring for patients across diverse cultures and resource settings.
